Clergy

WELCOME – BARUCH HABA! Shalom! We welcome you to Congregation Beth Israel and invite you to join us at any of our many upcoming events to learn more about our congregational family. It is our hope that you’ll explore our community and feel comfortable to call us, ask us questions and inquire about participation. We encourage you to come see for yourselves. Stop by for a visit, join us at one of our services or try out any of our many diverse activities, no matter what your age or interests. Congregation Beth Israel has a long and rich history in Texas. As the oldest Jewish congregation in Texas, its members were early builders of our great city. Beth Israel continues to lead the way in innovative programs and worship for modern Jews and their families. You are welcome to enjoy worship, study, social and community activities. Jewish and non-Jewish family members, alike, engage in helping build strong bonds to enduring Jewish values, rituals and deeds. We want to meet you where you are on your Jewish path. From there we’ll walk together in all the ways we can make Jewish life relevant, meaningful and joyful together. Our clergy and our congregational families look forward to being with you. On behalf of our rabbis, cantor and educators, welcome to Beth Israel! L’Shalom, Rabbi David Lyon Senior Rabbi Congregation Beth Israel

“Congregation Beth Israel is large enough to offer extraordinary Jewish opportunities and small enough to care deeply about you and your family.” — Rabbi David Lyon
