“Fleeing from Ourselves: How do we Return?”
Led by David Scott, RJE – The Margolis Gallery
In this discussion, we will explore the deeper themes of this sacred day as a lens into our collective goals and responsibilities. What makes us feel committed? Where do we seek to avoid responsibilities? How can we renew ourselves in the year ahead? Drawing on stories from our tradition, we will guide each other on the path toward returning to our best selves.

“Words to Action: Empowering You to Address Antisemitism”
Led by Lisa Stone, MPH – Gordon Chapel
Would you like to know what to say and do—and what not to say and do—when you encounter antisemitism? Start the new year ready to deal safely and constructively with antisemitism and all forms of hate. You’ll get strategies to share with friends, children and grandchildren. This is a tough topic, but you’ll leave feeling better—and better prepared.

“Teshuvah: The Joy of Returning”
Led by Dr. Tom Cole – Finger Board Room
During the High Holy Days, we’re called to perform Teshuvah—a return. But return to what? Inspired by Rabbi Steinsaltz’s idea of Teshuvah as spiritual awakening, this session uses Jewish mindfulness and meditation to reconnect with the sacred spark within ourselves. Through quiet reflection and breath, we’ll notice moments of regret from the past year and gently release them, returning to a calm, loving awareness. We’ll then share insights in a group discussion, exploring the release of negativity and the rediscovery of the goodness within ourselves, our relationships, and our connection to God.
