DESCRIPTION:*Please note that\, due to inclement weather\, the Yom Ha’atzmaut celebration will now take place at the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center (5601 S. Braeswood\, Houston\, TX 77096) — NOT at the Merfish Teen Center.* \n  \n \nCome out and celebrate 71 years of Israel…Tel Aviv style! On Thursday\, May 9th from 4:30-7:00pm\, Congregation Beth Israel will participate as a community sponsor at the “Israel at 71 Celebration” taking place at Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center (5601 S. Braeswood\, Houston\, TX 77096). This special event will feature an Israeli-style torch lighting ceremony and a Eurovision-inspired concert with local musicians. There will be games\, crafts\, and activities for children of all ages\, open swimming (4:30-6:00pm)\, and Kosher food for purchase from Laykie’s Café at the J\, My Pita\, and Genesis Steakhouse. Street parking available; off -site parking and buses available from the ERJCC.
