Shabbat Services for Our Young Families
Please join us each month for two programs designed especially for families with children under six. Shabbat is a time to celebrate with family and friends, and we hope that you will take advantage of these opportunities to bring some extra warmth, joy, and meaning into your sacred time. Shabbat Playdate
We will be meeting in Levit Hall between 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. on the 2nd Saturday of each month. One of our Rabbis will lead a morning filled with songs, bagels, games, and plenty of time to relax with fellow parents as the kids play. You can enter the building through the Shlenker doors. Older siblings and friends are, of course, welcome … but our activities will be geared to the younger kids. If you would like to join us for breakfast, a $10 donation per family is appreciated. The Shabbat Play date schedule is as follows:
October 15th, November 12th, January 21, 2012, February 11th, March 10th, April 14th and May 12th .
Tot Shabbat
The 3rd Friday night of each month is reserved for Tot Shabbat! Don’t miss this magical evening of food & fun, songs & blessings, and meaningful time spent with family and friends. Tot Shabbat will be in Levit Hall with one of our Rabbis and you can enter the building through the Shlenker doors. We’ll begin with a brief service at 6:00 P.M. and then move into a healthy dinner. Reservations are required for dinner. You may send your check as your reservation no later than the Wednesday before to Michelle Renfrow at mrenfrow@beth-israel.org or at 713-771-6221. The cost for dinner is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children.
The Tot Shabbat schedule is as follows:
October 21st wtih C Fu Yang, November 18th with Boston Market, December 16th with Fadi's, January 13, 2012 with Pico's, February 17th with C Fu Yang, March 16th with Boston Market, April 20th with Pico's, and May 18th with Firehouse Subs.
Family Shabbat
Family Shabbat fis designed for children in Kindergarden through 5th grade -- The Rabbis and Michelle Renfrow invite you to join us for dinner, a Shabbat Service, dessert and a fun activity. This is a meaningful time spent with family and friends. Meet us in the Shlenker ARP at 5:30pm, and the evening is $10.00 per person over the age of two years old. Please RSVP to Michelle at mrenfrow@beth-israel.org or send your payment in advance to 5600 N. Braeswood Blvd. ATTN: Michelle Renfrow no later than Thursday befre the event.
The Family Shabbat schedule is as follows:
September 23rd with dinner from Boston Market and a New Shabbat year project
October 28th with dinner and a service from our friends at Greene Family Camp
December 23rd with dinner only followed by joining the congregation for a Chanukah style service in the sanctuary
January 27th with dinner from C Fu Yang and Family Game Night
February 24th with dinner from Pico's and a Friends Fun Night
March 23rd with a BBQ dinner and Rodeo line dancing
April 27th with dinner from Fadi's and an evening of Israeli dancing and fun
May 25th with dinner from Prince's and Family Game Night
