Losing a loved one is probably one of life’s most difficult trials.  While the loved one lives on in our own personal memories, some of us seek ways to honor this person with a tangible memorial.

A yahrzeit plaque may be purchased in memory of a loved one, whether or not the deceased was a member of Congregation Beth Israel.  Each plaque will accommodate the name of one person.  Individual memorial plaques are available for $500 each and are placed on the recently installed yahrzeit walls in the rear of the sanctuary.  Twelve wooded units hold plaques placed in alphabetical order which are lit on the anniversary of a person’s yahrzeit and on Yom Kippur.

In order for the plaque to be installed for the 2007 High Holy Days your form and payment must be received by July 13, 2007.

Each yahrzeit plaque is 1.5” tall by 6.5” wide, and will allow for your loved one’s name, and dates of birth and death to be etched onto the plaque.

The name line may be up to 26 characters, including spaces and punctuation. The next line will include dates of birth (if known) and death.
