We can't believe it is over! The 11th and 12th grade Religious School trip to New York City has come and gone!
What a great time the students had this past cold January weekend. Our 12 wonderful students had a fun filled 4 days in the big apple!
Daniel Dozark, Jonathan and David Baron, Josh Levine, Bubba Fish, Adam Lyon, Melissa Mendell, Jennifer Pickett, Katie Klein, Mara Schnitzer, Natalie Lodinger and Racheal Burgower along with their fearless leaders, Rabbi Mark and Rachel Ann Miller and Michelle Renfrow left their mark on New York City. From visiting the NBC studio for a tour and seeing Rosario Dawson rehearse for Saturday Night Live to Shabbat at Beth Jeshurun, to dinner at Carmine's we had a blast! Some highlights includ: Services at Central Synagogue, Blue Man Group, Shopping on 5th avenue, Times Square day and night, Sammy's Roumanian Steakhouse for some good old Jewish cooking (pass the schmaltz please!) Havdallah on top of the Empire State Building, touring the lower east side and getting a perspective on early Jewish immigrants lives in the city, Wicked, ice skating at Rockefeller center, and iced hot chocolates at Serendipity (in the 15 degree weather of course). We spent Martin Luther King Jr. day volunteering at a public school in Harlem doing various projects for the community and making new friends. There is so much to tell!
Please feel free to check out some of our memorable photos below.
