Young Families

Beth Israel is proud to invite families with children under the age of 6 to come every month for two programs designed especially for you!

Young Family Shabbat is a time to celebrate with family and friends, and we hope that you will take advantage of these opportunities to bring some extra warmth, joy, and meaning into your sacred time. Contact Rabbi Mark Miller (mmiller@beth-israel.org) or Michelle Renfrow(mrenfrow@beth-israel.org) if you have any questions or comments about our Young Family programs.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

SHABBAT PLAY DATE- ONE SATURDAY PER MONTH- 10am-noon

We will be meeting in Levit Hall between 10am -noon. The Rabbi will lead a Shabbat service with special songs and games, and there will be bagels, lox and plenty of time to relax with fellow parents as kids play. Please enter the building through the Shlenker doors. Older siblings and friends are, of course, welcome... but our activities will be geared to the younger kids.

Tot Shabbat –One Friday per month
Don’t miss this magical evening of food & fun, songs & blessings, and meaningful time spent with family and friends. Each month, we’ll offer a brief service, followed by a healthy dinner and time to relax and play.  We’ll be in Levit Hall from 6:00 – 7:30 pm.  Please enter the building through the Shlenker doors. Reservations are required for dinner, so make sure to RSVP no later than the Wednesday before each Tot Shabbat to (713) 271-4012 with your name, the event and the number of children and adults.  The cost of the dinner is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children.
