The Shabbat Shira service is an exciting, completely musical Shabbat service featuring our rabbis and Cantor Robert Gerber along with the Beth Israel choir, accompanied by a live 6-piece ensemble playing contemporary Jewish music. Featured composers include Rick Recht, Debbie Friedman and Lisa Levine.

Guest artists are occasionally invited to participate. For example, in February of 2006 the Shlenker Choir added their voices to the program. And, in May of the same year Cantor Lisa Levine came down from Baltimore to sing and play her guitar. In the 2008-2009 season we have featured guest soloists from our Congregation.

You’ll find no better way to begin celebrating Shabbat than by joining voices and listening to uplifting music with friends, and loved ones.
