Congregation Beth Israel is now forming a Bereavement Group, which will be held on six consecutive Tuesday afternoons, from January 17 through February 21 at 2:00 p.m. here at Beth Israel, facilitated by Sharon Gerber, MA, LCSW. The sessions will last around one hour. Anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one may join; loss is not limited to a spouse. This is not a drop-in group; participants are asked to attend consistently and new members are not added after the group begins. The greatest benefit comes to those whose loss is not too recent; six months to a year or more is when people seem to benefit most. There is a $36 fee charged to non-members and no charge to members of Congregation Beth Israel. If you would benefit from this support group, please contact Rabbi Adrienne Scott at 713-771-6221 x329 or email jnathan@beth-israel.org. Anyone in the community is welcome to attend. Space is limited, so please contact as soon as possible. ______________________________________________________________________Regardless of whether death has been imminent or arrives unexpectedly, we are never fully prepared for the loss of someone we love. Grief takes all forms and is different for each person. If you are grieving the loss of someone you love, we are here to comfort and stand by you as you move through this natural life process. You are not alone. Your congregational family is with you. Please feel free to contact our clergy or join our Caring Committee’s bereavement support group.
