ADULT B'NEI MITZVAH CLASSES
Have you thought of becoming an Adult B'nei Mitzvah? Registration is currently open with classes to begin on Sunday mornings later this fall. Contact the Cantor's office for details. For further questions, please email Greg Tucker at gtucker@beth-israel.org.

ADULT HEBREW CLASSES
Our Adult Hebrew program offers two yearlong courses that focus on modern Hebrew. If you are planning to visit Israel with the congregation in June 2018, consider signing up for one of these classes. Our Advanced Course meets on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. Our Hebrew Beginners class meets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings. FALL BACK
Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday, November 5. Many of your electronic devices will automatically change to the proper time. For those devices that do not update on their own, set them back one hour on Saturday evening.

 



 

VETERAN'S SHABBAT – NOVEMBER 10
We invite all active military members, veterans, and first responders in our community to receive a blessing during Shabbat services in our Sanctuary on November 10 at 6:30 p.m. in observance of Veteran's Day. Please feel welcome to wear your uniform. We thank you for your service, and we look forward to honoring you.

FAMILY SHABBAT - NOVEMBER 10
Families with children in 5th Grade and younger are welcome to our Family Shabbat, 6:00 p.m., Friday, November 10. Please park and enter through the Shlenker School doors. For more information and to RSVP contact Rebecca Ramsey at 713-271-7369 or rramsey@beth-israel.org.

SERVICE AND ONEG HONORING
RABBI JOSHUA AND AVIVA HERMAN

On Friday evening, November 17th, at 6:30 p.m., in the Sanctuary, we will thank Rabbi Herman for his contributions of mind and spirit and selfless service to Congregation Beth Israel. Rabbi Herman and Aviva will be making Aliyah in December, with great anticipation for their new home in Israel. Join us for worship and a special Oneg Shabbat in their honor.

SHABBAT SHINDIG - NOVEMBER 18
Mark your calendars for our next Shabbat Shindig! On November 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Rabbi Chase Foster will welcome families with children 5 and under to participate in a short service filled with songs, an activity, and bagels, followed by games and play time outside.
