Jazz Shabbat

On Friday night, August 26, 2011, Cantor Dan, along with the Beth Israel Choir and a Jazz Band, presented a special Jazz Shabbat featuring jazzed up traditional melodies, and music of Craig Taubman, Isadore Freed, Jose Bowen, Debbie Friedman, Srul Irving Glick and David Schiff. Jews have enjoyed much success in virtually every area of jazz-from early jazz to swing, from bebop to jazz-rock, and as jazz composers and record producers. I hope that your were able to join us as we celebrated this triumph with a special service of Jewish and Jazz fusion.

Below are links to brief excerpts from the service. Enjoy!
